Bug Spring Trailhead
Galls attached to a bush that I suspect to be Atriplex canescens (fourwing saltbush). I placed the galls in a jar hoping to obtain adults. A gall, that I opened in the field, contained a pupa. Two days later (October 6, 2021), when I was ready to photograph it, the gall had a pupal casing and an adult fly had emerged.
