Atlantic Ghost Crab - Ocypode quadrata

Size: Carapace length ~40 mm
A very large specimen in a defensive posture. It is my qualitative impression that this species has increased in abundance in New York in recent years. It is now very common. Surprisingly this is a BG first for the state.
