If I'm seeing correctly, the ovipositor reaches only the posterior edge of T1 (rather than fully reaching the mesosoma as in the similar
L. affinis floridana
).

Oh, dang!
You know, I almost went ahead and caught this wasp, but I just didn't have the motivation at the time (felt bad and it was right at the start of my hike, so I didn't want to have this poor thing tumbling around in a pill bottle the whole trip to get bumped and battered.) Now I kinda wish I had caught it! Oh well. :)
