Found on a garden shrub in the morning. I suspect a Longitarsus.

It does look different from the ones already in the guide. The Coleoptera Checklist lists one Mantura (floridana) for Ontario, and it looks somewhat like the one here . Don't know if that could be the one? Of course, there might be new species in Ontario by this time...

I believe there is only one species in north america. The one you refer to is Mantura chrysanthemi floridana. A subspecies or form apparently. I agree it looks some more like your specimen. Your specimen seems smoother though. I don´t see the deep punctures on the pronotum. Maybe this is variable and it is Mantura chrysanthemi after all. I hope other specilists will leave there opions as well.
