Miridae ? - Lygocoris rugicollis
47.63054N 52.68751W (WGS84), Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
July 25, 2008
Size: 6 mm head to wing tips
Found mid-morning sitting on a window shutter that adjoins the front window of our house. Hoping to get Miridae confirmed (or not) and maybe go further.

It looks like Lygocoris rugicollis.
I found a book describing its record in Canada, Newfoundland, and Neartica.com records this species as Plesiocoris rugicollis.

Great Detective Work!
Thank you for your research. Besides saying that Lygocoris rugicollis lives in Newfoundland, the article you cited also states that Alders are this insects native host. There are very few apple trees around here but there are lots of alders. Perhaps this individual that I photographed was still feeding on alders. I've moved the images to the Genus page until an editor creates a new species page. Thanks again.

Maybe Lygocoris species...
Compare with
http://www.britishbugs.org.uk/heteroptera/Miridae/lygocoris_rugicollis.html

But, the linked species is not recorded in North America and there is so many species of Lygocoris in the US.

Yes, Miridae
Probably Lygocoris pabulinus.

Diaphnocoris chlorionis?
How about Honeylocust Plant Bug (Diaphnocoris chlorionis)? Take a look here.
