I don't have this one yet, but it looks like it would be a nice reference to ferret out the meanings of those scientific names.

...is the 1944 reference by the botanist and desert ecologist Edmund Jaeger:

      A Source-Book of Biological Names and Terms

At about 280 pages (including the 25 page preface), it's about twice as long as Borror's work and somewhat more detailed (i.e. a bit less "telegraphic").

One of the few such word books written by an entomologist...
This small volume was recommended to me by an entomologist who described many species. I'm thankful for both the tip and work that went into this publication as I rely on it on a regular basis.
