Fuzzy Black Caterpillar - Hypercompe scribonia

Fuzzy Black Caterpillar - Hypercompe scribonia
Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA
November 18, 2021
Size: ~ 4.5 cm
Tiger Moth (?) …possibly a Giant Leopard Moth (Hypercompe scribonia) (??) The orange bands were pretty obscured by hair. No good shots of the face but it was tan/ light green colored with minimal black markings.

On the trunk of a (Sweet Gum?) tree in a mixed pine/ deciduous forest. (Thanks)
