Unknown Bee - Anthidium manicatum

Unknown Bee - Anthidium manicatum
Whitehouse, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, USA
July 25, 2008
Size: 1"
My dad has this bee (bottom left) in his garden at his work. He says it comes back each year and patrols the garden, chasing away all other bees. I know the critter on the right is a hummingbird clearwing. I left it in there for size comparisons.

See wool carder bee
here for a possible match - but wait for a real expert to comment. : )
