this one looks to be Okanagana balli

There are three similar looking species with potentailly overlapping ranges.

O. canadensis (usu. darker with more contrasting yellowish pattern)
O. balli (smallest member and typically associated with Prairies)

This genus has a narrower head than the Tibicen species you usually see in your part of the world.

Thank you for the ID. I have never seen this kind before, or such a small cicada. This one was a female, by the way. Is the color pretty variable? I couldn't find one that looked like this the the guide.
