Size: around 40 mm
A monster of a wasp. Really huge....would pull the whole flowerhead down each time it landed. There are little scoliids that look very similar that are under 20 mm.

I believe this may be Campsomeris quadrimaculata based on the discussion on However, I've found a photo of that species and the yellow marks don't look quite right. Maybe they are variable? See this photo
