Psilochorus female - Psilochorus - female

Psilochorus female - Psilochorus - Female
Secret Creek, Lassen County, California, USA
September 11, 2021
Tom Rickman found this adult female Psilochorus under a rock in a dry streambed of Secret Creek. He collected it and sent it to me to ID and to donate to CAS as a specimen. Surprisingly, the epigynum seems to match this species (P. rockefelleri) best, previously thought to be found only in AZ and NM. Joey Slowik was kind enough to look at these images and agrees this is the best ID, commenting that the ranges of most Psilochorus are not well known. Hopefully a male will also be found at this location to confirm the ID - placing it here tentatively for now.

Moved
Moved from Psilochorus rockefelleri.

Collection of additional specimens by T. Rickman suggests that this might be the undescribed female of T. inyo - more details to follow...
