Spreadwing micro-moth. A tortuous path (below) to get to Alucita montana (?) - Alucita montana
Carver, Clackamas County, Oregon, USA
December 4, 2021
Size: ~5mm
Found inside house, attracted to light. Was in a good spot for photography but I made the mistake of measuring the wingspan with a ruler first (12mm) which got it to flush. Next got a quick cellphone photo in an awkward perch our of view where I had to blindly aim the phone, and then it disappeared. It's still inside so hopefully it will reappear. Searched the extensive images below with no luck. Looking for what appeared to be the chief characteristics: leading edge of wings dark with a second dark band farther back, long snout. Photo doesn't show well but the abdomen is dark with narrower light bands. Overall appearance is lighter than the image appears. Full-frame image included; 80-yr old house, window frame could use repainting; but too busy photographing bugs.

I am far from an expert but have checked this out pretty thoroughly. If I'm wrong, do let me know.
