Clostera ornata - male

Clostera ornata - Male
3,625', Eddy Mountains, Siskiyou County, California, USA
April 29, 2020
Size: FW = ~15.5 mm
Attracted to light. ID confirmation by dissection - JoAnne Russo. Fascicle 22.1A states that the way to separate C. ornata from C. apicalis is as follows: "...most obvious trait for separating males is the simple apex of the uncus of C. apicalis, compared to the minutely bifid apex of the uncus of C. ornata". This specimen has a bifid uncus as shown in JoAnne's photo. I'm hoping someone will create a BG page for this species.
