Plant bug - Plagiognathus politus

Plant bug - Plagiognathus politus
Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Preserve, Lake County, Illinois, USA
July 22, 2008

Moved
Moved from Plagiognathus.

It looks like a Plagiognatus politus.
It has a pale lunate marking at the base of the cuneus, which is shown in early-season morphs of P. politus. The coloration of antenna and legs also matches with the description of Schuh. It is widely distributed in eastern North America including IL, and its host includes Asteraceae.

Moved
Moved from Plant Bugs.

I suspect it to be a Plagiognatus species.
