On pre-blossom stems of Gaillardia pulchella (Asteraceae) flowers at 3:10 pm. When approaching these aphids they would move into a headstand position; raising the rear section into the air. Reddish-colored aphids in sunlight. No winged adults observed, only wingless adults and nymphs.
