Bluish Teneb - Chilometopon helopioides

Bluish Teneb - Chilometopon helopioides
Picture Rocks, NW of Tucson, pima County, Arizona, USA
July 28, 2008
Size: 8.5 mm
Caught at black light. Lost it's blue color (wachs, scales?) over night

Moved
Moved from Edrotini.

Looks a lot like Chilometopon helopioides
A dorsal head-shot would certainly help to nail that down.

Moved
Moved from Darkling Beetles.

Eurymetopini, i suppose
i think, it had wax (rather than scales), a common water loss protection used by many tenebs in arid areas

Moved
Moved from Beetles.
