Is this one good or bad for my apple tree? - Neoxabea bipunctata - male

Is this one good or bad for my apple tree? - Neoxabea bipunctata - Male
Hampton, Windham County, Connecticut, USA
Size: 1/2 inch body
This was curled up in a leaf on an apple tree... all my browsing did not help me figure out what it might be. Any ideas as to whether or not is a beneficial insect?

BTW, you will find these Tree Crickets..
...have a beautful song. In the next few weeks, start listening in the evening. They have a long beautiful trill. I had one living on my patio, and he would sing between 8 - 11:00 p.m.

night noises
I really can't hear anything at night over the tree frogs and coyotes! When we first moved out here, we used to laugh and mimic the noises trying to figure out where it was all coming from!

You need another category, perhaps : )
There are going to be a lot of bugs out there that are neither good not bad for your garden, but just going about their own business as part of the ecosystem. They might a nibble a little here and there, but not do much damage. I think tree crickets would be in that category.

Try...
looking through the "Tree Crickets (Oecanthinae)," it looks like it is not yet fully mature.

Correct.
This looks like an immature Neoxabea that has one more molt left before becoming an adult male.

thanks!
This is awesome! I dont want to spray my garden so I am trying to deter and pick off individual pests. I'm spending lots of time learning which are beneficial and which are the ones I need to save my plants from! This site has corrected a few of my previous misconceptions and also given me new information! Thanks to all for your incredibly speedy and knowledgable responses...
