This posture with uplifted frontlegs is an indication that the specimen is considering an escape jump.
The full prejump procedure =
1. tilt head up to backwards
2. lift up frontlegs (and wave with them)
3. eject tubelike vesicles from collophore (at high speed)
4. apply furca
Procedure can be interrupted at any step.

Thank you. I indeed observed this behavior several times. No instant jump, but some time they do jump looks like without looking around.
