Only slightly similar

Don't know what it is
other than it is beautiful! Any indication of what plant it might have been eating? Any plants around this spot? It might be a leaf folder, so look for something with the ends of the leaves all curled up and webbed shut.

I saw it on a building, surrounded by a parking lot, with a variety of plants and weeds about 20 feet away. So I can't match it with a particular plant. Whenever I approached it with the camera, it lifted its head (?) in an apparent defensive move as seen in this photo.

Hi,

I saw the same caterpillar in the vineyards in Peconic Long Ilsand, New York. He was eating the vine leaf and kept looking for a whole in the wood to go into.
