Idaea pervertipennis? - Idaea pervertipennis
Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
March 1, 2022
Size: ~12 mm WS
Wingspan measure was as pictured. Note the well defined terminal line of dashes, fringe that is not checkered or speckled, and underwing AM line with broad band of dark shading. Idaea celtima is similar but has more dark speckling across entire moth, including the fringe. I. nibseata is also similar but has checkered fringe and appears to be limited to Arizona.
