Milkweed Beetle -
Tetraopes tetrophthalmus
Wachusett Mountain, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
August 3, 2008
Size: 12 mm
Seen on milkweed. It fell off or jumped when I moved for a better angle and I lost it in the grass.

I have never seen one...
except for pictures but I have ran across numerous othee Longhorn Beetles. I have found that, as a defence, they will simply roll off of the plant and fall to the ground. Much better hiding spot...
