Size: About 1 1/4 inch
This was best photo I was able to get. Moth was always sitting with wings almost upright. Any help towards ID would be appreciated.

Metarranthis
This appears to be a Metarranthis and may be the Common Metarranthis (M. hypochraria) (Hodges 6826) which does not have a BugGuide page. The Metarranthis certainly pose as you have described.
