This beetle was collected coming in and out of a small crack of a stump (of a Magnolia tree) in my back yard. After taking some short videos I then collected this beetle. I decided to take videos first as still photos off my phone are always blurry and from video I can still take stills. I include a few here to show the beetle in its natural habitat, but they can be frassed in not helpful. I also took some higher quality photos for the collected specimen. Since I placed the beetle in alcohol, the beetle expanded between head, pronotum and elytra.
