Beetles - Olibrus

Beetles - Olibrus
Wachusett Mountain, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
August 3, 2008
Size: 3? mm
There were a lot of these little beetles on yellow flowers and on thistle. They were hard to photograph, being featureless dark blobs on brightly-colored flowers and often buried deep in the flower. Even overexposing I was unable to find any detail on the shell; it was dark with maybe an irregular slightly paler area along the top and front. What you see here is reflection.

Some sort of ladybug, I presume. I'll frass after ID (or "unidentifiable") unless it's something rare. Really I'm curious.

Olibrus sp.
In my opinion the best view of "turbinate" (top- or nipple-shaped) terminal antennomeres so far on the guide. You can also spy the two sutural striae on the left elytron of the upper beetle. Please do not frass!
