Good lighting and good luck.
All these were shot with the built-in flash of my Nikon D80. The bee was mostly inside the sage, rather than atop it, and I consider myself fortunate to get anything decent. The luck continued with a batch of Pepsis shots that I feared would come out horribly, but were actually quite nice.
