Geocolus caecus

Geocolus caecus
Fort Payne, DeKalb County, Alabama, USA
April 4, 2022
One of three collected with pipe traps(1) set in clay substrate on a wooded slope outside a large cave from October 2021 to April 2022.

Scale = 1 mm.

Sweet catch and picture! Very interesting trap design. Nice work.

The traps have also picked up this species in SC and KY, including larvae. Mike Caterino and I have submitted a paper on this that should be in the Coleopterists Bulletin later this year.
