Irvine, Orange County, California, USA
August 4, 2008
My granddaughter found this green stink bug in the driveway, apparently drawn by the 500 watt halogen light we were using to practice martial arts. If memory serves, those two small black spots have some significance. So what's Stinky's real name?

Meet Stinky. Better yet, ID him. - Nezara viridula Green stink bug needs ID. - Nezara viridula

We would suggest
Nezara viridula - Southern Green Stink Bug, based upon Boris's research on identification clues.

Well, he does have a bit of a drawl.
Perfect! I found the reference to the black dots on the info page. Thanks much!
