Acmaeodera bivulnera
This is Acmaeodera bivulnera. This species has very dense setae on the abdomen, visible in this photo. A. acanthicola has sparser setae. I recently visited the U of A collection in Tucson and the unit tray for A. acanthicola contained some A. bivulnera mixed in.

In the U of Arizona Collection
these from the Tucson Mountains are labeled A. acanthicola. A bivulnera specimen are all from CA.

Nelson gives the distribution for A. acanthicola as CA and AZ, and the distribution for A. bivulnera as CA to NM (also Mex.). So both species are present in your area. Those that I've collected were identified as A. bivulnera, and they look very similar to this, but...
