Diptera ex Polemonium reptans - Delia

Diptera ex Polemonium reptans - Delia
Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
12 October 2021: Puparium inside tunneled-out area in a small root found exposed on an eroded bank. Planting the root in a pot, it eventually sprouted leaves, showing itself to be Jacob's ladder, Polemonium reptans.
Puparium overwintered in fridge
17 March 2022: Adult
I have seen the long basal leaf petioles of Jacob's ladder tunneled out by an unknown insect and I wonder if this fly might be responsible for that too.

Not too many species of Botanophila have 1 pd on the mid tibiae. Of the ones that do and those I don't know the mid tibial chaetotaxy for, this doesn't match any, with no erect discal setae on tergite 5, acrostichal development, and other tibial chaetotaxy. As far as a checklist of Botanophila species goes, Nearctica.com has an outdated list, still keeping Pegohylemyia separate from Botanophila. However, Systema Dipterorum presents a few new combinations and I think some new species for our area not in previous works. It seems that traces of maybe ongoing revisions and nomenclatural acts are being left, with Botanophila setigera being considered a synonym of B. anane on Systema Dipterorum and a mysterious identification of the holotype of B. defector in CNC as B. moriens by Michelsen in 1989 or something (denoted in physical label captured in photograph on CNC website).
I have not been able to find a particular match in the genus Delia for this one, but a few species could, such as planipalpis, carduiformis, etc, would need to see if lower costal setulae are apparent, and also a better shot of arista for me to be sure it's very short pubescent. It may also be new, as I think I haven't come across a species with host plants even related to the one mentioned. Or an undescribed female for a species in which only males are known.

Appreciate it
Thank you for all your work on this, Arturo. I will check to see if I have better photos of the features you mention.
