Dusky Dancer Maybe? - Argia translata

Dusky Dancer Maybe? - Argia translata
DeSoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
August 4, 2008
It's not unusual for damsels and dragons to visit my backyard every morning around 9:30--just as the sunshine is beginning to flood one corner of the garden. I've noticed that in this bright morning light the colors in my photos can be more washed out than those that I take in the shade, but the insects don't often oblige by posing in the best light. This same individual returned the next day (mites and all) and shows just a tad (a southern scientific term) more blue in its patterned abdominal segments and eyes in the pictures I took then.

Yes, good ID
We'll move it there. The damsels can be blue or gray depending on how warm they are also. Blue is warm and happy. Gray is cold.

Thanks for the confirmation!
But I can guarantee that on August 4th of this year it was not cold! We were in 2 weeks of 100+ degree days!
