Speaking of Dr. Hamilton, has anybody seen a post from him lately?

I am always amazed!

lately?
Sheesh, I go in the field collecting for just 3 weeks and people wonder if I've dropped off the face of the earth. Get used to it; next month I'll be in AZ.

Yes sir...
We like you...
We miss you...
We are concerned about you...

I am sorry if it bothers you that I trust your knowledge, value your opinion and concern myself with your well-being. It is just that nobody here has you training and experience with hoppers and spittle bugs. I certainly didn't want to create a mess by giving incorrect ID's so I suggested something with a disclaimer to wait for an expert. Which brings us to the two images of Coelidia olitoria. I read a comment under an image that stated something like there was another hopper that look similar to Coelidia olitoria. Just knowing that there was something similar and not wanting to misidentify anything, again, I suggested and advise waiting for an expert. I guess a good alternative to that would be to resist the urge to attempt an ID in this field.

Love it down there in AZ...
Almost relocated there, but wife said no thanks.

Thanks Ron...
If this ID is correct, it will be the northernmost submitted image for the guide. Maybe Dr. Hamilton is on vacation :^)

He is one of the lead scientists
at a recent BioBlitz out at Acadia National Park in Maine
