Looks like...
It might be a Geometrid Moth, but we cannot say much more than that, without a top-down view of the wings. (dorsal) see here

 
as I suspected
Thanks for taking a look and that guide is nice! It was a chilly 42 degrees in Michigan after dark and the two individuals of this species were holding their wings tightly together under the warmth of the mercury vapor light. I noticed that both had "peppered" underwings and body.
