Many were seen running up and down the trunk of a large dying Red Pine (Pinus resinosa) in bright sunlight. These are common in central Maine, but active only during a short window, late May to early June. They are often seen on warm sunny days flying and running about logs and large branches of newly fallen or freshly cut Eastern White Pine (P. strobus).
