Hodges #1422 - Palm Leaf Skeletonizer Moth - Homaledra sabalella - Homaledra sabalella
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
March 17, 2022
Attracted to black light light in the evening. An ignored photo in my files of what I think is of a Homaledra sabalella, presumably raised on (in) our "Wind Mill Palm."

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. According to BugGuide there exist not yet described Homaledra species in Florida, but of those shown on the photos in BugGuide this is most similar to those of H.balella.
Edit: My choice of the moth's ID was supported by James Hayden who has recently described two new Homaledra species and provided an identification key for the genus here.
