Cactus caterpillar - Euscirrhopterus cosyra

Cactus caterpillar - Euscirrhopterus cosyra
Saguaro National Park, Arizona, USA
July 20, 2008
I believe the food plant was staghorn cholla.

Cholla
The cholla looks like probably Cylindropuntia arbuscula; not sure the common name of choice for this one, but it's one of the Pencil Chollas (very thin stems).

Thanks--
I don't suppose you know what this one is?

I need all the help I can get with desert plants!
