Nymphalis l-album

I'm pretty sure this is a Compton Butterfly however the markings differ slightly from
Nymphalis vaualbum, so would this be a differing subspecies? and if so which one?

Compton
It's a Compton
My reference says there is only one recognized sub-species in Canada with the nominate sub-species being Eurasian. Markings can be variable between individuals.
