I saw your beetle here in the ID request list and thought it looked cool, so I spent a few minutes browsing the Visual Guide to Families on the main page info page here for beetles (Coleoptera)

From there, I can see there are several superficially similar species to your guy under: Malachiini

It may or may not be in there, but it's not a bad place to start looking.
