Virgin Tiger Moth - Apantesis

Virgin Tiger Moth - Apantesis
Seabrook, NH, USA, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
June 19, 2022
Size: 1.2 cm
I think this is a Virgin Tiger Moth. And my attempt to identify it, I found information that the caterpillar of this moth is the Woolly Bear caterpillar. I have many Woolly Bear caterpillars in my yard and have even found them in my shed, in an old plant pot and even in my tool box. So, it's highly likely that Tiger Moths would appear here. This one was attached to my back screen door all day yesterday. It is the door we use to go in and out so we gently slid it open each time to not disturb this beautiful moth! It was still there last night when I went to bed, but its gone this morning.

perhaps A. virguncula
I think this might be Apentesis virguncula, the Little Virgin Tiger Moth. The cross lines on this moth do not seem to match up with A. virgo.
