unknown weevil - Orchestes steppensis

unknown weevil - Orchestes steppensis
Minot, Ward County, North Dakota, USA
July 10, 2008
Size: 2 mm
attracted in numbers to an Emerald Ash Borer sticky trap baited with manuka oil

Moved
Moved from Rhynchaenus - this looks like a range extension, known from Wisconsin for some time. Can evidently be quite a serious pest.

Rhynchaeninae
genus Rhynchaenus sp.

Orchestes alni
Mike - do you have something more current than AB that shows this subfamily and genus in use? All the 'brown' ones look the same to me - I'm guessing Orchestes alni. Notice
