Moved from Hulstina aridata. Looking at Brown (1998), I now believe this is a strong possibility for Hulstina nevadaria that was described from Mono County. I will create a page for that species here at BugGuide and link the literature.

This is very different. How did you make the determination?

Upon further review...
..it appears this one should have been placed at aridata based upon Rindge (1970). However, I am now wondering about Hulstina nevadaria described by Brown in 1998.

Hulstina nevadaria
After JoAnne's dissection, I was leaning toward aridata but am having a hard time visually with non-imitatrix Hulstina identifications. Hopefully the beta on H. nevadaria will be forthcoming soon! The H. nevadaria described in the literature is quite close to my location.

There were a few moths in question in the group I sent to JoAnne from this past summer that are being analyzed further.

Thanks for your help Steve! ...and Steve!
