Large aggregation of Bees, Andrena? - Calliopsis - male - female

Large aggregation of Bees, Andrena? - Calliopsis - Male Female
McGee Creek Campground at about 7600 feet in the eastern Sierra, Mono County, California, USA
June 26, 2022
A large aggregation of hundreds of bees flying rapidly within inches of the ground over a warm, sunny, sandy, pebbly area in a campsite. They seemed to be starting to dig holes in the sand, though I saw none that were very deep. They were photographed only when the rarely landed. Some stopped flying to mate. These images are not the same individual.
