Odd Hopper - Scaphytopius acutus

Odd Hopper - Scaphytopius acutus
Near Ruraldale, Upshur County, West Virginia, USA
June 17, 2005
Conditions were not ideal and I grabbed a quick shot at ISO 1600. Still, I liked the looks of this hopper and would like to know its identity. It was on Elder.

Moved from Scaphytopius.

Scaphytopius sp.
An educated guess would be S. acutus, as this is the common species in your area; but there are lots of others with the same colour pattern.
