High Sierra Wasp? - Podalonia - Female
Rock Creek Canyon above 10200 feet in the eastern Sierra, Inyo County, California, USA
June 28, 2022
Size: 10-15 mm
Wasp seen trying to haul a paralyzed caterpillar away in the middle of a sandy trail. Several other similar wasps were observed earlier flying or walking along the trail without prey. Marginal quality photos taken with my iPhone.
