Hagen’s Small Minnow Mayfly (Diphetor hageni) Anafroptilum sp. - Diphetor hageni

This is a fine picture that extends the BG range to Arkansas. The moth is incidental in this crop and of no consequence.

KyleDash remarks on the uncropped linked image that was frassed (and may eventually disappear), "Posted this image on iNaturalist under the user ‘kyledash’. Identified as Hagen’s Small Minnow Mayfly (Diphetor hageni), but am not sure of ID. Could be in same Genus. Is next to Agreeable Tiger Moth (Spilosoma congrua)."

Species ID is corroborated by Roger Rohrbeck, who comments there, "I am unable to see any characters (in your image of this male imago) which would rule out it being Diphetor hageni. As such, I am placing it there in the Guide. However, I suspect its body length (if measured) would have been more like 4 mm."
