Helvibotys helvialis - Neohelvibotys neohelvialis

Helvibotys helvialis - Neohelvibotys neohelvialis
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
August 14, 2008
Size: about 25mm
Small yellowish-tan moth with darker markings. Although this is not an exact fit for Herbivorous Pleuroptya Moth, the markings are nearly similar. Coloration is a bit off, but it seems my specimen is very worn. If you are able to shed light on the ID, please do so. But I believe it is a Herbivorous Pleuroptya Moth.

Neohelvibotys neohelvialis
Matches description by Capps for Neohelvibotys neohelvialis. The red in the terminal area of both fore and hind wings would seem to eliminate Helvibotys helvialis but see comments here.

I thik that this may really be Helvibotys or Neohelvibotys. I suspect Helvibotys helvialis, but please wait for an expert to comment before posting to species.

Thank you
Thanks John, I appreciate it. I took a look at Helvibotys helvialis and your right, it does look more like that than what I had. I'll wait for an expert.
