Several characters help ID this one...
the strongly margined, parallel-sided umbone of the pronotal disk; the light bands on the apices of the antennomeres; and the reddish femora.

The dark clouding of the base of the elytra seems unusual to me, but the this species is highly variable in coloration. Compare this to the other recent posting from Arizona: Photo#2142353

clouded coloration at elytra base
I'll return to the patch and check out other specimens. I didn't see the Arizona image yet, but will in a minute. Odd, as ALL the others have a distinct black dot on red; not a black smear on red. Fresh from emergence??

That's a possibility...
I've noticed in some specimens that I've collected, that when taken out of the jar, moisture sometimes causes the hindwings to adhere to the inner surface of the elytra, causing black blotches. When preparing them, I gently lift the elytra and dab the undersides dry, which usually remedies the blotches. If this is freshly emerged, a similar thing may be happening... but the blotches on your specimen look really uniform, leading me to speculate that they are real pigmented areas...
