Baileya ophthalmica

Baileya ophthalmica
Karnack, Harrison County, Texas, USA
May 11, 2020
Size: 12mm
Found as a molting initial instar on Mockernut (Carya tomentosa). Covell's reputation is restored and sadly it is no longer that easy to differentiate Baileya larvae based on host plant. Photo is of the second instar three days after preceding molt.
