Antlion nymph - Myrmeleon

Antlion nymph - Myrmeleon
UT Field Station, Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
August 8, 2008
Size: ~8mm
Presumed to be a nymph of Myrmeleon immaculatus, since that was the only adult species observed there. A number of conical pits were in the flowerboxes, and this nymph was captured at the bottom of one. UT Field Research Station, Gathering_2008. (Note: I had first put this image on the species page.)
