Bark Beetle
Looks like Xylosandrus crassiusculus, the Asian ambrosia beetle. Please wait for another opinion though.

I kind of like the perspective on the relative size of this beetle. Without a close-up or cropped image of the beetle, though, I'm not sure it's that useful to BG. Is it possible for you to crop this image to show the beetle better?
