Red Lilac Bug - Boisea trivittata

Red Lilac Bug - Boisea trivittata
Village of Vernon, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA
July 22, 2022
Size: 1 cm
Appears to enjoy swarming around in the leaf mulch around our newly transplanted lilacs. Doesn’t appear to enjoy the leaves or bark. Hoping it’s harmless. There are a lot of them. More interested in crawling away than flying.

Moved
Moved from True Bugs.

Sorry about the delay; this one evidently dropped through the cracks. It's an Eastern Boxelder Bug nymph.
